The QUILT SURFACE DESIGN SYMPOSIUM was founded in 1990. QSDS is owned and operated by Linda Fowler and Tracy Stitzlein. QSDS offers a series of workshops that provides training in the fast growing field of Art Quilt Design. QSDS welcomes all levels of quiltmakers, textile artists, and surface designers. Anyone interested in working with fabric, whether it"s cutting it up, sewing it back together, quilting, painting, printing, overdying, embroidering, or appliquéing, will benefit from our symposium. Excellent classes are offered in composition, color usage, and surface design.

Our symposium features over forty classes with top name instructors. Students may sign up now for any number of our 2-DAY SESSION and/or 5-DAY SESSION classes.

In addition to the quality of our classes, the location at the University Plaza offers classrooms, dining, and housing all under one roof. The Plaza provides a sharing environment where you can meet quilters and fabric artists from all over the world -- from as far away as Germany and Japan, and as close as our back doorstep in Ohio.
